Majority of chitin production is from shrimps that are from sea catch… reduction in availability of chitin will drive the prices higher of Glucosamine. ALso most of the drying of chitin is done in solar energy…rains will also effect drying of limited chitin that is produces from shrimp shells form Aqua culture .
I see prices increasing steady because of monsoon season till mid september in India …also demand form USA has been rising ..i expect price of Glu HCL to reach USD 12 /kg in months to come
