This link takes you to BBC Radio 2 discussion on the Jeremy Vine Show. Non UK may not be able to listen to the discussion . It is one hour and 10 minutes into the show.
Researchers at Warwick University UK and John Hopkins Baltimore say they are almost always a waste of time. Defended on the show by Graham Keen of the HFMA and against by Chris van Tulliken presenter of Trust me I’m a doctor on BBC television.
Graham admitted he is not a scientist and that did not add much weight to the argument. this always the problem with supplement studies.

Some vitamins A and E and beta Carotene were causing deaths slowly like cigarettes. Vitamin D is needed in many cases.

One argument said that since I have unbalanced diet I take supplements to compensate. This was not recommended .
No doubt this is not the last we will hear on this subject.
